Karen is the author of ‘From Bullied to Brilliant’ and Director of Powerful Positive People. A qualified Trainer of NLP and Time Line Therapy® Coach, Karen helps adults, children, performers and athletes overcome confidence and self-esteem issues.
Karen has a deep understanding of bullying and social isolation, through both her professional and personal experiences. Experiencing bullying and isolation at school she struggled with self confidence before moving from Manchester to the Ivory Coast in tropical West Africa aged 15. There she faced further isolation and ostracisation as a result of language and cultural differences and ultimately learned not only how to overcome the challenges but thrive. As the mother of three school-aged children, she also understands the pressures families face when bullying becomes an issue.
Karen’s book ’From Bullied to Brilliant’ helps parents, educators and victims of bullying understand how a change in thinking can end the bully-victim cycle be you child, adult or parent.
Karen is a performance and confidence coach, speaker, author, Trainer of NLP and Time Line Therapy®. Karen divides her time between her coaching practice, family and speaking engagements and is available for limited coaching sessions. She is an engaging and inspiring presenter and will deliver talks to schools, universities, businesses and groups. Karen is also available as a speaker for conferences or events.

Understanding the bully and the victim
Based on her investigation into the bully-victim dynamic, Karen Clarke understands the patterns that emerge when dominance based relationships are at play and is able to clearly demonstrate what occurs when two people agree to participate in a bully-victim dynamic. Inevitably, bullies and victims alike lack a clear understanding of personal boundaries and how and when to implement them. This lack of awareness causes the victim to allow bullying to occur without effective opposition and equally affords the bully an opportunity to impose upon another without understanding the consequences.
