‘Dealing With Difficult People’

As part of the ‘Building Better Communities Program’, an initiative of Gympie Regional Council the Brisbane Broncos, Karen Clarke and Darren Burns will be delivering a ‘Dealing With Difficult People’ presentation to better understand and manage bullying.
Darren Burns has had a 10 year playing career in the NRL for the Broncos, Rabbitiohs and Roosters, and Super League in the UK for the Warrington Wolves. Employed by the Broncos as a Game & Community Development Officer since 2005, Darren has been working in schools promoting better health and well being, along with providing students with the knowledge to help them win at life.
His experience as a player and an employee of the Broncos has shown him what works and what doesn’t work for many people.
As the author of ‘From Bullied To Brilliant‘, a life coach and trainer of NLP Karen, understands the patterns that emerge when dominance based relationships are at play and is able to clearly demonstrate what occurs when people agree to participate in a bully-victim dynamic.
Karen is the author of ‘From Bullied to Brilliant’ and co-founder of Powerful Positive People®. Karen has a deep understanding of bullying and social isolation, both in her capacity as professional coach and her personal experiences of witnessing and experiencing bullying. Dr Arun Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, wrote the foreword for ‘From Bullied to Brilliant’ with contributions from internationally recognised sportspeople and celebrities such as Matthew Mitcham, Michael Schwandt and Tanja Mitton. Karen has also partnered with the Brisbane Broncos, For Kids Sake, Pemsoft, and BullyZero, among others, and continues to share her message of personal empowerment around the world.
